All people are different. Some people like the thought of being amongst a group of people, while others do everything they can to avoid crowds. When traveling, the people who aren’t fans of crowds will do everything in their power to avoid them. The COVID-19 pandemic has definitely grown the pool of people who want to avoid crowds.
If you want to avoid crowds but still travel, follow some of these tips and tricks.
Travel to a Less Popular City
If you’re planning a trip, plan to visit less popular cities. For instance if you’re traveling to Tennessee, you may end up choosing to go to Memphis rather than Nashville. Nashville draws tons of country music fans. You may even fall in love with some of these cities, and you’ll be hitting Google to type something in like, “Memphis houses for sale.”
Plan Your Sightseeing Earlier in the Day
If you want to avoid large crowds, plan your visits while traveling early. Most people won’t even be up yet. Get up early and get at it.
This will be a much more enjoyable experience as you won’t have to rush. You’ll be able to take it all in and enjoy the attraction. While you’re planning your trip, make sure you do your research to find out when everything opens and make plans around that to ensure you get there on time to beat the crowds.
In a place like Disney World, this may not always hold true, but at most travel destinations it will.
Traveling to the Beach? Go Beachfront
If you’re traveling to a warmer climate destination like a beach, find ones that are kind of private. There are definitely beach destinations where you can avoid the strip of hotels and boardwalks. Go to a beach where you can get a private beach house all to yourself.
To dive a little further on this tip, find one that is oceanfront. Oceanfront rentals are great because you can most likely get your own little private spot on the sand. Private oceanfront rentals will give you your own private beach access where you can avoid the community public walk access which will tend to be a more crowded area.
Choose Somewhere Within Reasonable Driving Distance
This is pretty self explanatory, but avoid planes. Planes are crowded spaces and if you don’t have a reasonable number of people traveling with you, chances are you will be seated next to a stranger.
Figure out how long of a drive you can take and look to travel to places within that time frame. If you don’t like crowds, planes may be the place on a trip where you face the biggest crowd. Don’t forget you will also have to make your way through and sit in an airport. Yikes!
