Our Ultimate Winter Travel Destinations
We are well into winter with the cold nights and short days here to stay until at least March. It is difficult to leave the comfort of home to go outside but we recommend these destinations for travel this winter.
Prague, Czech Republic
One of the world’s most beautiful cities is Prague that remains relatively quiet during winter months. The old town is something that must be seen and whilst it will be extremely cold there are plenty of cafes and restaurants serving great local food where you can keep warm. Be sure to pack layers on your trip to Prague as you can spend many hours outside. If you visit before December 24th be sure to visit the Christmas Markets which take place around the Old and New town. Here you can buy
handmade decorations and gifts, taste Czech holiday pastries, and enjoy open-air musical performances.
The capital of Iceland is one of the coldest cities in Europe, however there are many natural hot springs. Whilst the days will be extremely short, the locals know how to get through this time. If you manage to visit in February then try to be in the city for the Winter Light Festival which is a celebration of illuminating the dark days of winter with a collection of sparkling events. Be sure to try and view the the Northern Lights aka Aurora Borealis if possible, they truly are breath-taking.
